Hello,
I recovered a .mp4 video file from the Micro SD card of the smart phone where I accidentally deleted it. The recovered file has the same name as the deleted one and the size of the file is equal to the one I had deleted, but the file seems not to be working, I have used some video repairing tools, but it still not working, the player says only "unsupported format".
Do I still have a chance or have I lost the file permanently? Can someone please help?
Sincerely,
Yin

Another issue is the 'container' the video file is placed into. Supposedly, one can use the extension .mp4 on a video file that is placed in a different 'container'. I've downloaded .flv files and when the extension has been renamed to .mp4, VLC and MPC players played it with no problems.

As long as the microSD card has not been reused, the 'deleted' video file can be recovered with as many recovery programs as you are willing to use. You become the 'mad' scientist experimenting with recovery programs and mp4 players to see which gets the result you want.
