On my desktop i get the black screen of death with the moving cursor.I can't do anything like log in open task manager.
I can't even do refresh when i try that i get drive locked. Not only that i can't even boot into safe mode i tried holding shift and F8. I even reinstalled the boot files from the cmd and that didn't do anything.I don't want my data to get deleted like ,my games, movies, my 3d models iv'e made.Since I really wanted to continue on my newest 3d animation i was working on.I was looking forward to getting my free upgrade for windows 10.

Sounds like maybe a crashing hard drive?? or some other hardware failure?? You could always try a clean install and see if that solves the issue?

Another possible solution is use another computer and create, from any one of several "Puppy Linux" ISO files, either a bootable DVD or USB stick with said Puppy Linux. After inserting any form of external media, boot Puppy Linux, mount the hard-drive with all your data & etc files, use the copy command to copy all your data files onto the external media.
