Drag and Drop issue win 8.1x64

This vague but I am out of ideas so I'll give it a shot:

Have a program I have used for 6 years with a guitar processor-called axe edit. Versions keep changing as advancements are made.
I always was able to drag & drop files from Win explorer to this program. New version and now I cannot. On my desktop or my laptop. I get the circle with the line thru it icon when I try. see, I said vague. But point is I am the only one out of thousands of users-so it must be a conflict with something I have on my laptop and desktop-same audio programs on both.

But where to start? Just thought maybe there are specific issues that render drag and drop inoperable. very vague, Sorry folks.

No new software (besides the app in question) added to either pc, I defragged, disk clean, all that stuff.

This appears to be the latest update on the current version (3.2.0 06/19/15). Make sure you are using the program in Desktop mode, not Metro/Start. http://www.fractalaudio.com/downloads/axe-edit/Axe-Edit-Release-Notes.pdf

• To IMPORT a Bundle, press the IMPORT button and browse to your file, or drag-and dropit on to the large yellow text of the main preset name area in Axe-Edit. At themoment of import, the preset and cabs are stored in temporary memory so you canaudition before saving, as explained in an on-screen popup. (The popups can be disabledin Preferences, but you’ll still see a “bubble message” reminder.) If you like what youyear, store the preset and cabs by choosing SAVE or SAVE TO NEW LOCATION. If youmanually change cab selections before saving, you won’t be able to save the bundledcabs (just re-import and try again).

Yes I have the latest version-It is mind boggling that it happens on my desktop and my laptop? That's why I feel it is a "software" conflict of some type, but to cause this behavior is so bizarre.

I only have desktop mode-I use Classic menu on both laptop and desktop pc.
Hmm, I wonder if that is part of it? Although I have always used classic start menu and all this worked fine 2 weeks ago with Axe edit (older) and older firmware.

I may try an older version of the app which would mean I would have to downgrade the firmware in the AxeFX itself. But it's all I have left at this point-

Thanks-I did. No one has responded to my post over there. Makes me think no one has seen those, although , yes, it would help to see if I am the only one.

Do you have access to a computer that is running Windows 7 and see if it does the same thing? What computer security software do you run? What folder is the cab's located in?

No, sorry, only laptop and desktop, both W8.1x64. running Bit defender total Security 2015band Malwarebytes. Pro newest.

But both were installed when all worked fine a few weeks ago. Plus I have all the fractal folders excluded in Bit Defender and Malwarebytes- Also disabled them while trying to solve issue-no changes.

Folder is located in various place-2nd and 3rd hard drive, ext hard drive and even put a copy aon the C drive-still no luck
