When it does blink, does it go black then back to normal screen ? Now it could be failing hardware, bad connection from hinge to monitor and even possible interference. Also could be the Video adapter drivers are corrupted.

This is the laptop ?

I believe from specs shown here it has a NVIDIA Geforce 840M, if you can double check that, go to the Control panel then the Device manager, go to Display adapter left click it, it should tell you there the model.

If it is correct NVIDIA, first thing i would do is uninstall older drivers, either go back to Control Panel in Programs and Features do it there, but first download the latest drivers here NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce Game Ready Driver WHQL

After uninstall reboot and install one you downloaded, see first if this helps the blinking.

Yes, you have right link for driver, same one i gave you. Uninstall it from Programs and features and even open up Display adapters in Device Manager and uninstall it there to, reboot and install new one. Seem have the older drivers i see from picture. This is my first step to see if the video card drivers are causing the issue, maybe files from drivers are corrupted or there is a conflict.

Alright, said had it in for repair and found no hardware issues. Still could try to test the display as this laptop has a VGA port, do you have another monitor can hook to it to try if it happens ?

When this started happening did you install anything just before software or hardware ? When was last time ran Malwarebytes a full system scan, could be a virus. Other suggestion can be corrupted files, another driver on system conflicting. ASUS site i listed make sure have all newest system and hardware drivers updated and also windows updates.

Try this at the Start button select (admin) command prompt copy and paste this and press enter

sfc /scannow

Same command prompt copy and paste this and press enter

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Reboot the laptop.

If SFC command tells you found corrupt files and can or can not fix them still run the other command, let me know. As this will try to fix corrupt windows system files if any.

Try these steps first, my other suggestion would be to try safe mode see if it happens there then a clean boot, this will try to rule out possibility of a conflicting software or drivers why i say also make sure system has most updated drivers.

To get to Windows Startup Settings in PC settings

  • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
  • Under PC settings, tap or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click Recovery.
  • Under Advanced startup, tap or click Restart now.
  • Once your PC restarts, on the Choose an option screen, tap or click Troubleshoot.

If you don't see the Startup Settings option, tap or click Advanced options.
  • Tap or click Startup Settings.
  • Tap or click Restart.
  • On the Startup Settings screen, choose the startup setting you want.
This case choose Safe Mode #4
  • Sign in to your PC with a user account that has administrator rights.

Let it run for awhile and see if it happens as not much can do in safe mode as it limits services and other software and drivers from running. We can later also try a clean boot, again this is to determine if any drivers or software is causing this issue, be some last resorts other then a possible reset or refresh. Still may think this might be a bad connection, hardware related too.

no, stay on 20% for awhile just let it complete. Chances corrupt files found by SFC due to a one Windows update, good chance have it on system.
DISM might receive a similar error. Check here first tell me if you see update KB3022345.

Can either first try another monitor for awhile if you have one. Run in safe mode for awhile see if issue happens.
Hard to believe brought it to technician and saw nothing happen or found nothing at all, i know it is an intermittent issue and sometimes hard to locate, sure had it for awhile to test it.

True, we first ruled out Video card drivers. Wanted to rule out the monitor by connected another monitor. Next step if that was o.k. would be either do a safe mode to see if it happens there or a clean boot, this will run the laptop with just microsoft drivers and services to try to see if it happens, if it does not this tells you that some software conflict or other hardware drivers are causing this conflict.

safe mode
Windows Startup Settings (including safe mode) - Windows Help

Clean boot
How to perform a clean boot of Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 to diagnose issues

This is difficult trying to figure what is causing the issues for one it is intermittent, not all the time and few possibilities can cause it.
I know not going to be able to do much with laptop while in safe mode and or clean boot, but this is a way of knowing.
Others way , test monitor with another or test the other hardware (video adapter and so on....) by benchmarking it, putting stress on hardware to see if it fails.

Others way , test monitor with another or test the other hardware (video adapter and so on....) by benchmarking it, putting stress on hardware to see if it fails.

i am cannot do safe mode or clean boot because i am afraid that will demage my laptop because my laptop lot of file of my work.
is this heppen if i am instal metatrader MT4 because i am trading on forex?
and also my friend his laptop with asus x450JN have same issue and then he know autocad dont update to newest version couse that blink but on my laptop dont have auto cad aplication i dont know what should i do

Well in safe mode most likely do not have internet access, clean boot think you may, but this is not going to cause any damage to laptop at all doing either. I understand if need to do work on it, not many other ways to test this kind of issue. Process of elimination sometimes to determine.

If similar laptops have same issue, could be some similar software conflicts put into them or drivers, but hard to tell unless we run in clean boot or safe mode, even Microsoft would tell you this. Have another monitor to hook to the VGA port on laptop.

Can try contacting ASUS will talk to you free of charge to ask advice and question. Gave you a link back before, under support page find a number to contact them. Other option if do not want to go further with testing here.

I am not an expert, but i know enough. Your call, only one friend told you this. How long have you had this laptop ? Used Desktops all my life myself, but ASUS is a good quality brand i know. Call them before making a decision or try more tests.

As said could be a conflict of some kind, software, system driver and even hardware issues. If made sure you update drivers from ASUS and manufacturer's site like you did with video adapter. Could be an incompatibility with Windows 8.1, but that sounds doubtful. Wow, had it 5 months before using it. Gave you most of what i thought, but all you tried was SFC system file checker. Now were guessing all we can do without trying something else. Reset or refresh may or may not solve it as said if due to things i listed above.

Here is an article tell you some other causes if i had not mentioned. You might also still have a warranty on laptop till 21-10-15. How to Fix a Flickering Laptop Screen | eHow
