Solved how to turn off Hibernation/Sleep

Hi all I am running 8.1 and am trying to backup my hard drive but after so long the screen goes black and stops the backup,
also I have move the mouse to get my log in screen which I do . It then carries on from where it stopped.
I tried extending the screen saver but that doesn't make any different so what can it be?? is it sleep mode or hibernation.
if so could you tell me how to switch them off please!!!!.

Keep it powered up, go into power settings and set to not allow it to go to sleep when plugged in, same as not letting hard drive shutting down. As for shutting off Hibernate, which will also disable Fast Boot. Open up a Command Window in Desktop, Windows key + "X" and choose "Command Prompt (Admin)". Then enter Powercfg /h off

Just remember that if you want to look at the Power Profile with Powercfg. You have to go to your documents folder, by holding down the Shift key and right clicking.
