My computer updated automatically the other night. When i tried to log on the next day, it says that my password is incorrect. I haven't changed my password in 6 months.

My mother bought this computer last year and she was comptelely overwhelmed by the main screen, so we switched and I gave her my laptop that ran on windows 7. She can manage that. I very stupidly never bothered to change the log in email address that was set up for her in the nursing home. She has no idea what her original password was, and neither does the staff member that set up the computer for her, and the outlook email address was never used.

I tried to submit the form to change the password several times, but since the account was never used, there isn't enough information to verify the account.

So now I have a brick. I would be fine completely restoring the computer, but I have no idea how. My husband, who is paralyzed and in an electric wheelchair, uses the computer to watch DVD's and netflix when he's in bed.

If someone has any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated. My husband spends a lot of time in bed, and he's going crazy with nothing to keep him entertained.
