Windows File Explorer Jump Lists Keep Disappearing

I'm at my wits end. Since I've upgraded to 8.1 this keeps happening regularly (the rate it happens seems to be increasing, actually). Everything is fine, my Jump Lists and Pinned Items are as I set them. But once in a while (now within a week or two) the Windows Explorer Jump List disappears. There is nothing, other than the folder I visit most frequently. Everything else, gone. They don't even appear in the Files -- 'Frequent Places' list. There is no trace that any folder was ever pinned or even visited (other than that one)
I've turned off the Auto-Maintanance, it helped only for a bit (now it doesn't help at all). I've checked whether or not my cleaners were doing that (I turned off cleaning Jump Lists and they don't run automatically). I've tried changing the settings (Disabling and Enabling it). I have no idea what else to do.

Do you use CCleaner by chance? It may be set to clear jump lists.

Nope, I haven't used CCleaner in months. And even if, I changed the setting so it leaves the jump lists alone.

I just thought I'd ask. I remember my jump lists were disappearing some months back. I didn't realize they were even on the list of CCleaner items. They keep adding new things.

near the bottom someone seems to think removing the arrows from the shortcut icons has the side effect of messing up the jump lists. Another suggests using CCleaner to only clean the jumplists and one or two other settings, to get it working in Explorer again. Nothing else solid so far.

At the end of that they suggest a similar solution to the one you linked me before, but they say to clear two folders (Automatic Destinations and Custom Destinations) then reboot. Maybe that's the trick.
The other ones seem to be all about what to do if the abilty to create jumplists disappears.

I don't know what else to try. Perhaps if you open CCleaner to use Tools Startup, save list as a text file, and post it, someone may recognize something in the list as a potential problem.

Thank you for your help anyway. ^_^

Sorry I didn't get a hit on it. :)

The only other thing that comes to mind.. do you use a Registry monitor tool for uninstalls? Sometimes one of those install monitors that notes all Registry changes can mess things up during uninstall if several other programs were installed in the interim.

Well, I use the Control Panel -Uninstall a Program, though a couple of times I had to use Wise Program Uninstaller. Though I hadn't uninstalled (or installed for that matter) any programs anywhere near when it happened again (when it happened the first time, I honestly can't remember).

I cannot find anything pertinent in search. If anyone else has a suggestion please chime in. :)

All I can say is check back now and then in case someone figures it out and posts the solution.
