My computer is set to turn off the display after 30 minutes and put the computer to sleep after 1 hour.
If I leave the computer for a short while, a key press or mouse movement turns the screen on or wakes the computer up.
If the computer is left for many hours a previously installed application would be opened up.
A previous post http://www.eightforums.com/general-...obat-reader-dc-open-when-system-wakes-up.html refers to this.
No knowing what else to do, I uninstalled Acrobat Reader and replaced it with a competitor (which doesn't open without being told do do so.
An application uninstalled since then, CoolEdit Pro, is behaving the same way as Acrobat Reader did.
In another forum, talking about Microsoft's FlightSim 2004 compatibility in Windows 8, a recommendation given several times was to avoid installing it into the default folder (Program File (x86) and to install it in a separated, devoted, folder.
Thinking that this might help, I uninstalled CoolEdit, and cleaned any left-overs with IOBit's uninstaller, and reinstalled it in its own folder.
It is still open when I wake the computer up after many hours.
How can I overcome this?
