Really strange connectivity problem with 8.1 64 Bit

I upgraded my router today and now my desktop running 8.1 64 bit is not happy.
I have 3 other machines on my LAN all running 7 64 bit and they are has happy as clams.

My Win 8.1 desktop can browse my LAN and the shared drives on my network but not connect to the web.
What makes this even stranger is that before Windows fully loads everything, the network icon shows I DO haverythiung isa healthy internet connection, and I can even open a web page.
Once everything is loaded, I get the dreaded yellow exclamation mark on my network icon.

I have changed Ethernet cables and ports on the router.

If anyone has any ideas or help, I would be very appreciative. I am thisclose to blowing out my 8.1 install and starting over.

I had an issue similar to this with a Dell laptop at work. I could get to local resource and network printers, but not out to the public internet. Had the same yellow icon, too. I had to upgrade the network drivers right from Intel, rather than what Dell was offering, then release and renew the IP address.
