How Do I Remove Pop-up of Status of USB Pen Drive?

I got Windows 8.1. Every time I insert my USB pen drive, I get a pop up message letting me know that Windows detected a USB pen drive. How do I get rid of this message so that I dont have to see it again every time I insert my pen drive?

Try this: next time it shows up choose "do nothing" or "Open to view files".

Funny, I just fixed mine so that it wouldn't do this, but I forget how I did it. I will try to remember. It was as easy as pie.

I think that if you move your cursor to the top right of the screen until you see the charms menu, then scroll down to settings then click on settings then click on change pc settings, the first screen you see will have a little toggle at the very top marked "auto run." Move this toggle to off. I think that is how I fixed my situation.

Hi, rocky, countmike and popeye.. I tried your suggestion, rocky, and I also did as countmike suggested also . But now I get a message that says:

"Theres a problem with the drive. Scan the drive now to fix it."

Theres nothing wrong with my pen drive since I used another pen drive and it gives me the same message. This is strange.

Windows does that a lot when suspects something may be wrong with a drive, let it check it and fix it.
