My computer keeps freezing randomly for 10 seconds.

Ok so no matter what im doing a couple times a day the computer will freeze for like 10 seconds then go back to normal. I can still move my mouse around but sometimes ill be in a video game it will freeze then when it goes back to normal im dead. It gets really annoying.

I have an external hard disk drive that tends to go to sleep whenever it's not being used. Once I start something that has to do with it, it starts spinning up and whatever I have open freezes for a few seconds, until the hard disk drive spins up. I can still move the mouse and all.

Hope you find this information helpful, and a possible reason why it happens.

I don't have an external hard disk, even tho i aim to get one, so I'm sure that's not the problem.
