Windows Media Player 6.4 incompatible fix?

Hi guys,

I'm running Windows 8 at work, and we have some old software from years ago on CD that we are trying to run.

It tries to install Windows Media Player 6.4 and says it's incompatible (obviously).

Does anyone know of a workaround for this?

The software fires up Firefox to display the content but the videos don't load properly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this is considered as a solution to your problem, but I'll post anyways?

Search for and install an alternate media player.
MPC-HC (https://mpc-hc.org/) This is what I use to play all my videos

Possible perfect solution:
Copy the installation file from the CD to your Desktop -> Right click the installation file -> Properties -> Press Compatibility on top -> Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for" -> Select Windows XP (SP 2) -> press Apply -> OK.

Try the file now
