I am in desperate need of help, I have an acer ao-725 which was stuck in a repair loop so I purchased the e-recovery thumb/usb. It went through most of the recovery then froze and shutdown. Now it goes through part of the recovery and ends up at X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe, is there a command that I should be putting in? At this point I dont know if anything is even on the computer anymore it says no bootable device. I have been trying to figure this out for almost 2 months and have gotten no where. I tried to contact acer and they are not helpful at all, they basically told me to join the acer community and figure it out from there since my warranty expired the month before it stopped working. I found a list of commands and tried most od them out but it says that they are invalid. I dont know alot about computer repair so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all helpers in advance!!

KYHI--Thank you so much for your response! I got home from a crazy day of unfriendly grocery shoppers to find your response and was so pleased, however I went to try your suggestion and now the computer wont turn on it just beeps some sort of code. If I can get it started again then I will try your suggestion and let you know whats going on. Thank you again!! :)

either try this - acer sent a new e-recovery thumb drive - which seems to have failed..

Or download a create windows 8.1 setup media (link in sig below) and try that..
You will not to use a win 7 or better pc to download windows 8.1 setup media

so I finally got a little bit further but now I still cant get into windows 8 I used acer's recovery thumb drive to reset my ao725 to factory settings and when I press alt+f10 edit boot options come up and says: path: \windows\system32\winload.efi
[ /noexecute=optin /minit /novga rdimageoffset=8192 rdimagelength=3161088 rdp ath=multi(0)disk(0)partition(6)\sources\boot.wim
when i press enter the acer screen comes up then the recovery management screen comes up says please wait a moment then says restore failed-can not find image path:m:\d2d\images\*.swm
Is there something I should change? if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, as i have been working on trying to fix this computer since mid december and it is now march. I dont know what to do and the acer company will not help me at all since i no longer have a warranty. i can not afford to pay for their support either. thank you to anyone willing to help!!!!!
