    Problem with win8 bios

I had a problem with my win8 laptop..
I couldnt load it. It said that I have to try else to reboot, shut down, repair .
I did reboot 3 times, and restarted.
I tried to do automatic repair but i forgot the pass to the user( cus its admin user, i dont remmber it)
So i rebooted the pc again, pressed on f10 then pressed on Restore default settings.
Now when i restarted the pc again, i had a weird unknown language on it written with diff symbols.
Did I just made a damage to the pc? The bios?

Can you post a screenshot of the unknown symbols?

AS far as I know you can't physically damage the BIOS by just changing settings. You can make your PC so it can't boot to the hard drive but you can't do anything that isn't undoable again by going back in and changing settings a second or third or more times. About the only thing you can do to really screw things up is set a BIOS password and then forget what it was, or flash the BIOS incorrectly. What ever you did "should be undoable" You'll likely have to use a portable camera to get screen shots of the BIOS.

Boot Win8 on GPT partition via BIOS (not UEFI)
Will it be possible to boot Windows 8 from a GPT partition using BIOS (not UEFI)? I'll be using the 64bit version. Technically, I know it's possible as I'm doing it with FreeBSD, many Linux distros etc. Using hybrid MBR/GPT, I've read others have Win7 booting off GPT partitons as all. I'd...

Just a thought...... Currently we build around 80,000 pc's a year here, with a fairly low attach rate of Nvidia Cards (Geforce G210, Quadro 600 and Quadro 2000D). I was just speaking to one of my Taiwanese colleagues who said their new G210 VGA Cards with a UEFI Bios will not work on Windows 7...
