What is wrong with this laptop today?

My laptop has been acting up today and I don't know why, from web pages taking forever to load, to just plain laggyness. I thought I'd use the revo uninstaller hunter mode to check it out, I moved the crosshairs over my desktop items and the info box popped up and I couldn't get it off the screen so I had to restart my computer. The please wait screen popped up before having me put in my password and stayed on that screen forever until I shut down my computer (it wasn't doing anything with any updates). Any idea why my laptops been acting up today? I'm about to say the hell with it and do another factory restore.

When you get things running good, a Macrium image would be better than factory specs.

Anyway, try running this batch file & see IF it helps.
Download it, right click it & click Properties & Unblock it, then right click it & click Run as administrator.
It takes about 2 hours or so to complete.
You can leave it run in the background if you wish.

Reset browser

Also could be due to some add ons, plug ins or extensions in browser, try disabling one at a time or start firefox in safe mode with add ons disabled.

Laptop might need some maintenance once and awhile, cleaning history, defrag, update drivers and windows update, remove unwanted startup items. clean insides with canned air.

I've had this laptop for less than a month, I don't have any add ons or plug ins for FF except the avast surfing protection(or whatever they call it), I run ccleaner each time I get off the internet. I just did a avast quick scan thinking I might have viruses and it took a little over 20 minutes to complete, When I first installed avast it did a quick scan and it took less than 5 minutes to complete.

Not familiar with how Avast is and how well it works, did you try at least to reset firefox ? Seems laptop itself is a bit lagging to, why i suggested maintenance now considering have not had it long, check at least those items too i listed. Take it step by step, sometimes just one thing doesn't always fix your issues..
