how to make windows 8 recovery disk to use on another PC

hello,
my ASUS PC stopped working (windows8) . it would not boot up to windows. I had no disks.
I bought another ASUS PC like the one that is broken. Can I make windows 8 recovery disk on my new PC and use the disk to boot up the old/broken PC? is it possible and How do I do this? thank you very much

If it is really the same, yes. The user manual should have instructions on how to create recovery media for the PC model you have.

sounds to me like you could save a lot of time and money if you took the old one to someone in the know and have them check it out to see why its not working properly .

You have to be careful doing this because Recovery disks are intended to restore the machine to original factory settings -- by erasing and reformatting the hard drive. You wouldn't want to boot your PC with such a disk only to have everything erased.

Windows 8.0 or 8.1? Are they both running the same version? How close is the hardware? You can download install media here that will use 8.0 and 8.1 keys, even embedded OEM keys. http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/18309-windows-8-windows-8-1-iso-download-create.html Then just do a clean install. If you have files you want to keep you'll need to back them up to external media first. You can slave the HD from the dud PC into the new one to do that, then pout it back in the original PC.

I've recently used this "adapter" to salvage data from the hard drive of a failed notebook.

As long that the old notebook's failure was not a hard drive fault it will work well.
