Solved Fixing libraries view to group by source folder again

I did this before and fixed it but can't remember how.

I was in some folder with a lot of photos so I decided to group it by date. Which was great.

Problem is, now ALL my libraries are also grouped by date.. and I can't figure out how to group them by source folder again.

Right now my libraries are a mess, each library looks just like one big folder.

If my library is made of C:\A, C:\B, C:\C

then I want it displayed as:

C:\A [files]

C:\B [files]

C:\C [files]

right now it is is just

[all files]

How can I restore this separated view? thanks

very strange... I tried that (all of the different group by folder options) before posting since I didn't want to waste people's time being an idiot - and it didn't work. But now I tried it again, and it works... I'm sure I did try it though - in fact, I didn't have to set it up because I already had that column set up from trying before. thanks

ah, I see why... it works on some libraries but not all.

Is there a way to make it a default for all libraries?

oh, strange... now it does work... it's like I have to try twice on some (including I think leaving the folder and coming back to it )

but I have many libraries, and I'm not against going in and manually changing each one's view but next time I group some folder somewhere and it cascades across my libraries - it will be a pain to go manually change them all again. So, how can I change the view for all libraries?

oh, somehow now they are all again grouped correctly by folder ... don't know what I did - maybe it pays attention to how the documents library is configured.

Grouping by folder name doesn't work the way I wanted... it groups alphabetically... but I prefer the original library folder order because I arranged them in the folder setup by order of importance.

the correct answer is:

right click / arrange by / clear changes

just in case anyone else wanders by with this problem
