you should expect that it'll take a long time. It's 4TB HD.

Did you select both partitions ? This is a GPT disk and there's a 128MB unallocated partition. It must also be selected. From the screen shot, I did not see it being selected.

what does the partition recovery wizard actually do??
MY situation is this :
1. i went to disk management in windows
2. i picked my wrong drive external 3 terabyte hd and clicked format..
3. 2-3 seconds in i pulled the usb plug out to stop the format.. but ofcourse it had started..
4. now i'm left with windows wants to format this drive so it can see it..
Where do i go from here..
i'm about to go to best buy and buy a 5 terabyte ($199) drive to clone/backup my data and or start recovering data to that.. thats where i'm at now...
suggestions?
I think i correctly ran partition recovery and selected both reserved partition and the raw data.. but it just searched for a long night and then changed nothing..

You did not do correctly. You missed one step. After clicking Finish , this will set as pending operation. You must click on Apply (Top left Corner) to commit the recovery operation. I suggest to redo it again.
