Reset to sell PC

Hi

I am selling a PC that is Win 7 (factory) and has windows 8 as well via dual boot menu.

Rather than resetting to factory and creating an issue dual boot wise I thought I could clear any info of mine from both OS'

Any advice on this? best way to do this on Win 8 as it has my login info etc

Plus they have had lots of updates over the months and would save time for any buyer

or use a drive wiper like in CCleaner.

If I reset the win 7 to factory I will loose the dual boot menu (had this before and took me a while to fix).

I just want to leave the OS in tact but get rid of anything of mine incl win 8 login details

If you have all the user data saved in the user folders (My documents, etc...) then you can create a new user and delete the existing user. When you delete the existing user, the system will prompt you as to whether you want to discard the user's data so answer 'yes' to that prompt. Of course, data could be saved in other places so then it would be necessary to delete that data manually.

Don't forget to make the new user an administrator

You might want to do the drive wipe (eg using CCleaner in post 2) after you have deleted your existing user as it is pretty easy to restore deleted files if you don't overwrite them. 1 pass is enough.
