Hello.
Since yesterday I've been getting some annyoing problems. I installed a few Windows updates yesterday and that's the only thing I can think off that could have caused this.. The updates are as follows, KB3014442, KB3011780 and KB3000850.
First of all when I right click the desktop and click either 'screen resolution' och 'personalize' nothing will happen for about a minute, and then the error "Explorer.EXE - Server execution failed" shows up.
I read about people having this problem with WMP so I tried opening a video in WMP and I got the same message.
One thing I noticed is that when my internet connection died (which happens sometimes) I had to restart my router, and during the time that my computer said I had no internet connection everything seemed fine. I was able to open 'screen resolution' and 'personalize' so I went in to the network and sharing center and disabled my network connection.
So I thought that perhaps my other problem is gone now as well and tried to turn the PC off, but no it was still the same. It gets stuck on the "shutting down" screen with the circle spinning forever, same goes for Log out and the only way to fix it is to turn the PC off by holding down the power button.
When I started it again another problem had occured. Now I couldn't access "Network and sharing center" by right clicking the icon in the bottom right corner. instead nothing happened and after a few minutes another error popped up (attached file). I can access "Network and sharing center" by going to the control panel though.
The problem where my PC won't shut down has occured before but only once or twice, most of the time it would shut down without a problem. Now i have to turn it of by holding the power button every single time.
I bought a new motherboard and CPU about a month ago so this is a pretty fresh install of Windows 8.1. My BIOS is updated to the latest version, as well as all of the drivers.
As I said this all started yesterday but the shut down problem have occured before which is strange.
Something else I notice while typing this is that if I press "System Properties" in the explorer windows it will lock up and so far no error has appeared. ----- Okay a few minutes later the window will simply unfreeze and work again, but I can't seem to open system properties.
I have scanned my PC with Avast and Malwarebytes.
I saw this post on sevenforums: http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/10524-explorer-exe-server-execution-failed.html#post272966
And as far as I can see it looks good here, they are pointing to documents.
I would really appreciate some help! Thank you in advance.
