Windows 8 Test drive

I have 2 computers that I want to do a fresh install of Windows 8 Pro just for testing purposes ! If I do a fresh install using my key is the key still valid as long as I dont activate it online or by phone? Its 2 PC one I built a year ago and one I just built, both using AMD CPU, one using Asus mobo one using Gigabyte Mobo? Just a question of which one I make a final decidision to install it on! My main question here again is as long as I dont activate it is my key still valid to use!

I believe updating to 8.1 might be more to your liking. It was to mine and even liking Windows 10 (beta) even more so.

If you use your key to install it will activate automatically when you are online - best use a generic key to install.

Well my intentions was to disconnect my internet connection and just check out mainly that the key and download are infact not and upgrade but a full retail! I actually won the key and a maual from a competiton Microsoft and Mike Halsey who infacts writes the Munuals for Microsoft and from all apperances it appears to be a Retail version Windows Pro! So I had no intentions on allowing it to go online and activate! Just more or less checking for a fact that its not a upgrade! Just in case I do have a generic key that does test valid just in case!
