Hi, i want to extend my D: drive with the unallocated space. However the unallocated space is two to the right of the d: drive, so i can't.

Does anyone know a way to move the unallocated space to the left?

Thanks

You don't move the unallocated space to the left; instead, you move the allocated partition next to it to the right.

Since you might not be able to do this using Disk Management, suggest you try the Minitool Partition Wizard Boot CD. It a Windows partitioning tool and has a lot more options and flexibility than Disk Management.

Just one note..

You may have to leave a small partition where D is now as a place holder to keep the number of partitions the same and in their current order.

Nothing big, just 50 or 100 MB and label it SPACER. or PLACEHOLDER..

otherwise recovery options may fail later when you need it.

Was that unallocated space always there ?

EDIT: Just to clarify, when i said where D is now, i mean the 6th partition in front of the 29GB partition
