Hey Guys

First post on here be easy on me haha :p

I just recently started having a problem with some of the buttons on the File Explorer ribbon, basically when I click the New Folder button nothing happens. Same thing happens when I right click on the Windows Key to access the context menu.

Has anyone had this problem before?

Any help would be much appreciated

*UPDATE* on the context menu some functions work like run and shutdown but not control panel and others :(

I would search on *.msc

Those are the files for computer management, services etc..

On the new folder thing I would suspect registry corruption. The first thing to try would be running
sfc /SCANNOW
from an elevated command prompt
3 times. See if it fixes anything. Also a scan with MBAM wouldn't hurt.

Edit: I see it's your first post. Welcome to the forums. :)

Thanks for the Welcome and for the advice :)

I have just tried all those but nothing seems to work. I think I have to face the fact that I will have to re install soon

It may be a good idea once you have a usable system to start imaging every so often. I use Macrium Reflect Free since it supports GPT and secure boot. But there are other free ones to choose from.

Yep I was looking into that haha I am currently researching a good NAS to buy so I can also have full system backups for the future. Thanks for the advice, I shall check out that app as well :D

That's Windows for you. Sometimes if you don't worry about it, the bug goes away. :)
