I have seen the article on here on how to add/remove libraries from 'This PC' however I want to remove/hide the Folders section. I know you can hide it in Explorer by just clicking on the little triangle symbol at the top left area of the Folders section. However when browsing to a drive from inside any software, it still shows the Folders section first even though when opening Explorer directly it doesn't since I've hidden it. Is there some way to stop the Folders section from displaying no matter where I browse from??

Just a question, if you hide the Folders from everything how will you or your programs find the files you need? Or do you want the Kiosk setup?

No I don't want a kiosk setup. Hiding the Folders section won't prevent me from browsing anywhere, it's just a bunch of shortcuts to folders. I want to be able to see just the drives as you used back when you viewed 'Computer' in explorer back in XP etc.

I have to say the whole way Windows handles explorer since Win 7 is horrendous. You have a single folder shown in multiple places (without the user being notified of it) and the folders may not all have the same name even though they point to the exact same location, which as a default is so bad it should be classed as a bug. I know of lots of people who have got themselves in a complete muddle because of having lots of Music/Picture/Document folders all over the place - it's a shambles and I simply can't believe anyone thought it was a good idea and yet they've carried it on into Windows 8.
