Good day/Evening to all.
I have an Acer laptop running windows 8.1,I'm using windows live mail 12 with a outlook and a google mail accounts.
Now my issue is when I'm on the tiles screen,I cant work out how to setup a new email notification from outlook or the google mail account,When I'm on the normal old desktop style the new mail shows up bottom right near clock.
But how do I get it to work on the tiled screen.
Many Thanks.

What are you actually using it's not clear.

Is this the "Windows Mail" App that comes with Windows 8.1
If it's this then right click on Start Screen tile and select "Turn Live tile on"
I think that is about as good as it gets for that App.

Or is it the more fully featured:
Windows Live Mail 2012 (on build 16.4 now), the Desktop Application which does the same job but has more features, you download it separately part of the Windows Essentials package.
You can have a Start Screen tile for this. Also it has the Task Bar notification if you wish.

This is not an App so it won't have a "Live tile" function. Essentially it's just a shortcut of the old school kind.

Unfortunately, Desktop apps don't use Toast Notifications. They will not bring up the square box in the upper right. They will still sound the audio alarm that is the default for Live Mail. Just to your Action Center icon on the right of the task bar. You should see Live Mail there and already set to show notifications.

If you are interested in converting to Windows 8 Mail from Live Mail, it has gotten better since the original release of Windows 8. If you are not that complex of a user with a bunch of business rules, you can easily switch. Instead of the import/export, just follow the instructions in these videos. But make sure you have your login credentials. I changed my password for all my accounts first to make sure I remembered what they were.

With Windows 8 Mail, you will get the Toast Notifications.

This video covered the improvements they did just about a year ago.
