Hello, I made a mistake and installed Norton utilities. I went to uninstall it but its not showing up under the installed programs list. I tried running the Norton removal tool, but it just tells me that I need to uninstall it first before running the tool. Any idea how to get rid of it. Thank you for any help.

You could manually remove any remnants out of the folders and registry.

Hi there!

Ouch...that's a irritating mistake you've made there. Let's see if I can help you out.

You might want to try one of the following options:
A) Reinstall Norton Utilities using the installation exe. Then afterwards uninstall it properly.
B) Revert your computer back to an earlier state. Take the state from before you initially installed Norton Utilities. ==> the installation should have never happend now :)

Goodluck with it and please post back your results.

Thank you both. I was hoping to avoid having to do a registry edit, but I didn't really have any other options. It is a newer PC and I simply forgot to set a restore point, at least this is a good reminder to do so. All is good now, after removing any trace of it from the registry I ran the Norton removal tool and it went through this time. Thanks again
