hi ! i got a quite simple question about windows 8.1 startup. ive noticed, that every time i open my pc, my disk usage at startup is always 100. it keeps staying there, untill about 45 seconds after the startup. the programs that are always on top is my antivirus ( avast ) and some windows features. now, i dont know if i've always had 100 disk usage at startup, but i just noticed it now. so my real question is that is it normal ? ive cleaned my pc, and not too long time ago i did fresh windows reinstall, so i dont have much junk running in the background. thanks in advance.

I don't know whats normal ,what jumps out at me is avast, check its properties/settings and make sure its not set to scan at startup

On my laptop Google Drive and/or Malwarebytes Pro does this for a minute or two after bootup, using the drive at 100%. Then it settles down to normal levels. I don't see this as a problem as long as it decreases after a minute or two.

I missed the part where you said it stayed that way for 45 seconds ,that is very normal ,and I really have to wonder how you even noticed it ,after all what 45 second wasted out of you day .
