So I just heard the news about windows 10 and that they have released a beta version.
Is this stable enough so I can install & run software & games? Also if I download the beta is it only active for a certain amount of time? Do will they keep updating it with new features

hello , I would not expect to use it as your main os, although some say there are doing so ,but yes it stable ,and I have install many apps on it so far ,I installed it on a separate harddrive ,and I unplug my win8.1 drive and plug in the win10 drive to use it ,so as not to fugg up my win8.1 ,not sure how long it will keep running ,but I don't think it will ever update to be the finished win10 ,you will likely need to buy that next year , there is a win10 forum sister to this one ,check it out for more info .

No. Yes. Sometimes.
Not guaranteed everything will run and there's a warning NOT to use it on a production computer or only computer, might get away with dual-booting.
There always is a time limit on Beta versions of software but nearly always when the released version becomes available.
It's possible they will as they find issues with it.

And be aware that since it's a technical preview, a keylogger is built-in and it sends all your keystrokes and whetever you are doing to Microsoft.
This is one of the reasons why you should NOT use it as your main OS. Nothing wrong with MS doing that (it's the point of the preview after all), but unless you trust MS and all its employees with whatever you do on your PC... or just simply don't care, you're better off staying on Win 8.
