Windows 8 Laptop changes to second screen only on it's own

I've had this issue since day 1 of me buying this laptop and it is really annoying. If you press f4 it comes up with a "Project to a connected screen" and my computer is changing this option on it's own, it changes to Duplicate as well as Second screen only and it starts to get annoying quickly. Could anyone tell me why it's doing this? Thanks in advance.

Any liquids spilled on the keyboard? Do you have a second display connected?

No liquids have been spilled on the keyboard and I don't have a second screen connected.

Can you take it back to where you bought it, for them to have a look at what's going on?
