Jumbled images and text in the metro UI, new install

Hello!

I just did a clean install of Windows 8 on a new SSD.

For some reason the images and text in the start and the wifi menu areare jumbled. See the attached screenshots.

I tried searching for it but couldn't find anything.

Hover over the icons resets them and fixes them most of the time.

If its relevant, I have an amd apu 6520G with a discrete graphics 6650M card on a laptop.

Since this is a new install. Did you install the Video driver ?

yes, I installed the latest available from the lenovo's website which has always worked in the past.

The only thing different this time from other times is that I installed an SSD, could that be an issue?

Your SSD has nothing to do with this. It is a messed up Video Driver install.
