Hello,

The title says it all. Using win 8.1 pro.

I have tried disabling the UAC. Creating a new administrator, enabling the Built in admin account, taking ownership of the files... absolutely nothing different and very frustrating.

Any other ideas?

Hey mate,

Try reformatting it: How to Format a Flash Drive: 15 Steps - wikiHow

Not sure why you're doing all those other things, they won't help. I recommend never disabling UAC for any reason, and probably shouldn't use the Built in Admin account. Windows is very good at giving the right permissions for files, you should never change them unless instructed by a knowledgeable person. Hope this helps!

Because windows says I do not have the right permissions to access, move , run a program, and yes I am the ADMIN

Hey mate,

Then follow this tutorial to see if you are able to fix those permissions: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...low-deny-access-users-groups-windows-8-a.html - OPTION Two may be the easiest one to do, in my opinion. This is for the Flash drive, and I'm assuming it is the only thing giving you problems. Let me know how it goes!

The very first step is to make sure I am the owner of the file, folder or drive...

When I follow the highlighted "Owner" link instructions, I have the "take ownership" in the in context menu for a file and for a folder but I do not have available for the USB drive when I right click..

Thanks for your efforts, I went through several of these options without any luck at all.

Seemed like way too much effort to do a simple task so I decided to reinstall windows since I hardly had any programs installed since it was a new tablet and that fixed the problem.

Something must have changed somehow, because all is good. Thanks again.
