Hello,
I am using Windows 8.1 with all the latest updates.
I'm trying to get into safe mode, but when I do it is only a black screen with in each corner it says "Safe Mode" and the whole screen blinks every few seconds resetting the cursors position. The cursor and text are only visible when I am moving the mouse, otherwise it's all black. I can't do any button combinations like CTRL ALT DEL or anything.
Normal mode works fine, and I can't think of any viruses/malware that work allow you to work in normal... but not safe mode.
I have all my W8 options disabled (Windows 8 mode, fast boot, secure boot) to see if it was those but to no avail.
Everytime I try, I have to go into safe mode. It sticks, so I can't just reboot/reset and go back into normal mode. I have to go into the emergency cmd and do bcdedit to delete the safeboot value.
I usually clean my PC every so often, the same with OS re-installation but nothing is wrong with the normal mode and the OS still seems quite fast with the SSD.
I have never seen safe mode function, this is the first attempt at running it in safe mode.
Anyone have any ideas as to what could cause this? I have seen a few threads on others experiencing it but most are Window 7 or older and they are all in normal mode and they can't get into safe mode to fix it... I can't get into safe mode but can get into normal mode...
Thanks
