Windows 8.1 Yes or No

My new Windows 8 computer (3 Weeks old), keeps asking me to upgrade to 8.1 for free, and I have a question.

What are the advantages or improvements that you get with Windows 8.1 over my current 8?

After looking at some of the comments below I am thinking maybe stay where I am.

Staying where you are would make you miss a lot of features and cost you some important updates. If you are sure you have all proper drivers you would be better of with 8.1 and update 1 for it. Here's some differences and upgrades with 8.1 plus you get some even better stuff with it's update 1.

Etc. etc. I never regretted any of those upgrades/updates.

I agree with Mike, I believe you will get a lot more out of it and you will continue getting essential security updates.

Me and all my colleagues updated as soon as it was available and it has only made Windows 8 even better.

This is a no-brainer buddy...

Windows 8.0 = chalk

Windows 8.1 = Camembert

Make an image backup of your current system before updating. You can then revert back to 8.0 if 8.1 gives you problems. The update worked fine for me, I've been on 8.1 since release and it is fine.

and I am also in your Group of C

I have 3 Desktops and 1 notebook.
Notebook= Win8.11 Pro MC 64
2 Desktops older motherboard Asus P7P55-D Pro, Both = Win7 Pro MC 64
1 Touch Screen = 8.11 Pro MC 64
I am currently setting up a dual boot on 1 Desktop or rather redoing it currently win 7 pro will dual boot to 8.11

I have Classic Shell on all win 8.11 and use Gpedit setting turn off the start screen I boot straight to desk to and have all corner turned off.


My Wife's Touch screen has Classic Shell here corners are still turned on and she boot to the start screen she rarely uses any of the metro stuff but since she only uses one program at a time full screen its all the same to her since the upgrade to 8.1 and update


My other computer is used for front counter sales and business accounting it will probably stay on window 7 sp1 Pro until it dies and I'm forced to build another one.
