I was trying to install elementary OS alongside Windows but when the installation was finishing it crashed. When I went back to Windows my hard drive didn't appear and now it says in Manage>Storage>Disk Management Disk 1 Dynamic - Invalid i posted a picture of this.I tried with Ubuntu then on the other disk same thing happened. Is there a way to get them back to normal without losing the data?

  1. Go to: Downloads | mh-nexus , scroll down and select English/portable edition and download.
  2. Unzip and right click on HxD.exe and select run as Administrator
  3. Click on Extras->Options and uncheck "Open disk as readonly by default"
  4. Click on the HD icon and select the disk (#1 from screen shot)
  5. select sector 0 (#2)
  6. From address 1C2, if it shows: 42 then change it to: 07 (#3)
  7. Reboot and run chkdsk /f X: where X is the drive letter.

NOTE: Since you've done something with UBUNTU, I am not sure if any damage done with it. Try it with one disk first.

Installing a Linux distro changed the MBR and along with changed that drive to EXT4. You would have to uninstall GRUB & fix the MBR. You will lose data if you do not do it correct.

From your screen shot, I can see that Hard disk 2 at location 1C2 = 42 which indicates it is a dynamic disk, just replace it with 07 and click on save.

Drive D: looks OK but does not have any data
Drive H: is also OK and does have data
E: and F: do not look right.

If you open H: , you should have some data in it.
BTW, did you do step 7 above ???

Yes it still changed the MBR. Along with made those drives EXT4. You are going to lose data on any drives that are partitioned as separate drives.

You do not need to hex edit anything. You just need to use Gpartd and then repair the MBR. Restore, Fix, Repair Master Boot Record in Windows 8 | 7

Run a Ubuntu DVD as a Live DVD, to see if it even sees anything on those drives, when it mounts them. It is possible that they were wiped out, when you started the install. Running Ubuntu as a LiveDVD, will not change anything on any drive. It will though help to allow you to figure out how far into the install you went. Along with if there is any data still on those drives.

In Ubuntu E: seems to have an Ubuntu installation that doesn't work(I tried to boot E:) and F: doesn't even appear on Ubuntu. When i tried to install Ubuntu and elementaryOS I selected small partitions of the drives why it fu^%&*^&* the whole drive.

Then the drives have been formatted during the attempt to install Linux. This is why you make images of the drives, before you do anything. Consider it a lesson learned, and all you can do is start from scratch, installing those games.

When you get things back to normal, make an image backup on all drives. I use Clonezilla for my laptop. Doing multiple drives, means multiple times of running the program. One image per drive. EaseUS Todo Workstation is a better cloning program. It would handle your setup with no issues. Just make sure you have enough storage space for the images.
