Is rearming of an Enterprise install legal and possible ?

Although I voted with my wallet and bought W8.1 as a full retail version, I'm still enjoying using the Enterprise x86 version on my old laptop where I can test stuff out.

Is re-arming legal and is it even possible on an Enterprise edition. (Of course if W9 preview works on this hardware then its all academic anyway as I'll have a new plaything )

If it works who'se going to stop you. My whole take on this is that if Ms puts that sort of facility into software and hasn't blocked it then use it.

The rest is between you and your maker.

If an ATM you used in a dark place at 2.00AM gave you 2 X 100 EUR ( Two 100 EUR notes stuck together) when you asked for 1 X 100 EUR would you take the extra 100 EUR back to the Bank the next day - especially if it was a long distance away.

I'm sure I'd know what even the most normally honest people would do - especially if it's from one of the more rapacious Banks which already got zillions of taxpayers money in bailouts !!!

OK, that's a fair enough answer I guess. If it works... lol... and that's the big question, then if I try it now I'll lose the time I've got with it. So I've got to wait until the last couple of days really. Come on W9, we're ready and waiting.

You can rearm 2x using slmgr-rearm so you can get 90*3 = 270 days. As you can only re-arm 2x you better leave it until the last day.

Forgetting the ethics, Windows 8.1 Enterprise Trial can be rearmed once, giving another 90 days.

Lol, well if I'm really honest the ethics on rearming don't bother me on this occasion because its thanks to this particular Enterprise installation (which I installed fully once before this but messed it up somewhat experimenting with drivers... and printer drivers... and !!! ... but surely that's what its for) that I purchased the full edition to run on my Dell (which runs fantastically and I still say W8.1 is MS's best to date).

Hopefully the talk will all be W9 before I need to rearm, if not I'll give the rearming a go. And if all else fails I've got my Vista install lined up and ready to roll (Acronis).
