Does anyone use Tivo with their Windows 8 machine?

I'm a longtime Tivo user and have always used Desktop to transfer my recordings to my laptop. Never had a problem in XP or W7. However, I'm having an issue with my W8.1 machine. I can transfer just fine; however, when I hit play and Windows Media Player launches, it only plays the sound -- there's no image. I've Googled this but haven't been able to find anything on it, and Tivo says it won't give assistance on W8 machines. Anyone have any experience with this, and if you've had success, how did you get it to work?

hello ,not sure what TiVo is but wmp doesn't play video, you will need to buy windows media center or use a free player ,a lot of us use VLC free player ,not positive it will play what you have but it plays most everything you throw at it . if it works just set it to default for that file type .good luck
VideoLAN - Download official VLC media player for Windows
