Hi,

my laptop has two users, once called work and one called gaming, and when i tried to log into work yesterday, the welcome screen with the spinning dots just kept going. the only way to stop it was to power off and reboot. at first i thought there was something wrong with it, but i tried logging into my other user (gaming) and it worked perfectly fine. i can even access the files in the work user from the gaming user.

let me know if i left any details out

any help fixing this would be much appreciated!

thanks

It would be helpful if you would fill out the My System Specs in your profile, we need to no more about your system than your OS to troubleshoot your issue

i just tried uninstalling norton and it didnt work. i also tried making a new user and testing to see if i was able to sign into that user and it worked perfectly.

i looked at my windows updater history and it said an update was installed around the day i was last able to log in to the account. this one: Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2 update: April 2014 not sure if thats relevant.

i also ran a full system scan with norton and it didnt have any issues detected
