Solved Dell vostro 3550 booting problem

Hi guys,

My niece asked me to help her with her Dell laptop...it was running very slow so i said i would install Windows 8 on it for her.

so I installed it and everything seemed to go like clockwork...

once it started again i get the dell boot screen then the Windows 8 logo comes up then disappears and then NOTHING!!

the screen is working as it lights up but nothing comes on it.

could this be a "dodgy" hard drive?

Hi, try to boot into SafeMode and remove the Nvidia driver - leave the Microsoft Basic adapter. Then boot into Windows and install the latest drivers provided from Nvidia.

Cannot boot into Safemode wont let me get into the recovery partition either

Sorry to hear that. If you have a friend who has the same Windows version you can make a Recovery drive to restore your system. If this is not an option you can try to power on your PC and then hard reset it(shut it down) 3-4 times until the Automatic repair starts up.

I have fixed the problem, hooked the laptop to my TV and it came on!

downloaded the graphics driver and now everything is working fine

You are welcome! I noticed that in your System Specs you have Nvidia GeForce 7050 but according to Dell site your PC has ATI or Intel HD Graphics 3000. Please verify that you have installed the correct driver so you wont have problems in future.

It's not my computer it is my nieces, installed the correct driver so let's hope there is no problems in the future
