Hi. I am rather new here and to windows 8.1. I have installed a third party apllication which alowed for automatic login via usb. I changed my offline account to online, noticed my user account is missing from logon screen(only 1 account on machine) used usb for login. Removed the software and now I can't log onto windows. Blue screen with easy of access in corner and power button. Can't go further. My question is where in the regestry will I be able to reset the logon credential manager to default. I'm able to access regestry files via other boot device. Don't want to reinstall. Any help would be appretiated. Thanks in advance
You can start by enabling the hidden Administrator account, then log in as Administrator.
From there you have access to all of Windows 8.1 to try to fix the problem.
I use it so I plug in the usb to automatically log in. Programs name is rohos usb key. Tried a repair couldn't fix it from disk. Had to clone partition, reload a old cloned parition I had and reconfigure bcd. Its running normal now just need do all updates again and copy all my files back. There was no displayed user accounts.
I still don't see the use. Normally you would click on your account name and enter your password. That seems easier than inserting a flash drive to me.
It always amazes me how different we all are and what is important to each.
I use it as I have a secure password and by using the usb it is quicker and not that hard or difficult. You just plug it in with the other things, turn on the pc and there you go it logs in automatically. No need to click or enter password
