Hi,
Ever since i upgraded my storage to a Samung 840 SSD windows 8 explorer is failing to work as expected. When i select the computer folder it displays 'The folder is empty'. This happens all the time.

My best guess its SSD compatibility? Firmware is all up to date etc. anyone had similar experience?

Thanks

Found the error which in fact is windows 8 updates after a sfc. Servicing operations include, but are not limited to, Windows Update, service pack, and hotfix installations :dinesh:

Why do you say that is the cause of the error? What tells you that?

Hi Ztrucker,

I suppose its only right i let the community know how i determined this to be the fault. Well, as soon as the fault happened i had a look in event viewer and low and behold there was a critical error pointing to the %Systemroot%\winSXS folder (This was also backed up by the system file checker results in my previous post). I haven't really dealt with this folder before so i decided to reinstall rather than fix. Although for those who cant afford to reinstall , Brink has a page on eight forums for the winSXS folder.

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/44351-winsxs-folder-component-store-clean-up-windows-8-1-a.html

Maybe i could have used this first i dont know! all i can say is that there is no compatibility issue anymore.

Thanks
