I am running 8.1 Update 1 and want to system to fully shutdown every time. I have already unticked 'turn on fast startup'.
Do I also have to disable hibernation using the 'powercfg -h off' command? Ideally I want the hiberfil.sys gone.
There is also the issue of different button's doing different levels of shutdown, can someone tell me which each of these do...
- Shutdown from the charms bar?
- Shutdown from Start screen power icon?
- Shutdown from the taskbar Windows button (right click)?
Basically I want nothing cached or saved to the hard drive etc during switch off and have every boot a cold one. I don't know how many things I have to set just to get it to simply shut down!
Can someone clear these things up for me, thanks
