Hello guys,
I have a weird problem with a laptop which is hard to explain.

The case is pretty much, having to push down (with not much force) where the harddrive and RAM is and where the enter key is whilst pressing the power button, sometimes this doesn't work, it normally turns on then turns off within a second, once it turns on it's fine but if it gets moved the slightest bit it just turns off, i've opened it up, checked the HDD connection and it seems okay, check the wiring of the laptop and it's all fine and the RAM is in snug, the screws are all in, is their any help out there?

Thanks.

There are many thin printed ribbon connecting cables underneath MB, to connect various parts, some of them might be broken or have a loose or dirty contact.

Thanks Mike, I'll check it out and see what I can do, I'll keep the thread upto date.

Sounds serious. It is probably a dubious printed circuit connection, which is parting when it warms up. If you have experience ,and a magnifying glass, you may be able to locate it in the affected area, and touch it with a warm soldering iron.

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
Hmmmm..

1. How new is the laptop? If v new, then back to the store!
2. If past reasonable warranty period, you might take the risk of further disassembly to identify the fault area. Strip covers & power on if poss, tapping for sensitive areas (likely a bad MB track, which will be difficult to see / fix)
3. Does it power off, or does the screen just go blank? Maybe a screen connector?
4. What about with the battery removed?
5. errrr. any other ideas?
