Solved Select all files in a folder using the only the mouse

I have just installed Win 8.1 and can't find a way to select all files in a folder using only the mouse. I could do it under Win 7 by using Organize. Is there a Win 8 equivalent? I know about Ctrl-A but that is not what I want.

Hi there. I use Ctrl-A and I'm on my phone at the moment, but is there not "Select all" on the right-click context menu of a folder?

There are 2 ways to do this:

2. Left click & Hold the top left of content windows and drag to the bottom left then release will select all the items.

Just click in the box in File explorer. I'm on Windows 8.1 update 1 so I don't know if this works in earlier versions though.

If you don't see the check boxes, make sure you have 'item check boxes' checked under the view menu.

Thank you very much! The link to Brink's tutorial showed me that by using the Home tab I found exactly what I was looking for.
