Want apps and web sites to open scaled to tablet size

Hello forum, I am a complete Newbie to Windows 8, having just purchased a Dell Venue Pro 8 tablet running Windows 8.1.
And would like to know if it is possible to adjust a setting or install a piece of software that ensures that whatever I open (an app or a web site) actually scales to my screen size and orientation.

Currently I find that apps such as the Contacts App (see picture below) for example are not properly visible with right hand side obscured, same with certain web pages when I hold the tablet in portrait orientation.

I can obviously scroll across, but figure there might be a more convenient way. I would prefer to see the whole web page on opening and then navigate from there, or the A-Z section of the pictured contacts app.

Any advice would be appreciated

Hi pullend and welcome to Eight Forums,
Its simple just go to search from the charms bar and type in "Resolution" then click the first one "Change screen resolution" then adjust it as you like or you can click detect to make the display fits your tablet.

thank you but it appears there is not such an option for my windows tablet
perhaps it does not support this (8 inch tablet resolution 1200 by 800)

That resolution is the recomended and the max your GPU can handle so if you force it to make it bigger wich another ways (such as 3rd party programms) your Pnp monitor will crash and it will result in a black screen so am sorry about that but you cant set your resoution more than this one.
