Folders looking strange..

Hey all,
I have recently found out my Windows 8 has gone kinda strange.
Please check few of the screenshots out below.

Some folders won't open, is this a virus or a trojan on my PC?
My PC seems to be running fine, starts-up and turns off fast.

This isn't just it though some folders have Desktop.ini in them.

There's no unknown files running in the processor or anything either.
Could anyone help a little ?

Hello Ashley, and welcome to Eight Forums.

It looks like you set to show hidden system files. These are the faded ones. The ones that won't open are most likely junction points that have the shortcut arrow overlay on them. They are not real folders, and are there for backwards compatibility. This is why they will not open.

You could use step 3 in OPTION ONE of the tutorial below to not see the hidden system files anymore.

I have just done a scan on my PC and found this.

I have 3 viruses dected on my last full PC scan which was moments ago.

Viruses and Trojans Quarentined: Artemis!7F706C6E8821 <- This code cannot be found on the Mcafee website. [This code was given when the scan was finished, this is the code for the trojan, virus I have?]

In that case, I would recommend to create a new thread for the virus issue in the System Security forum area to see if our experts can help you get the PC cleaned up.
