I have a very bizarre problem with windows 8.1 pro. When my machine is freshly booted, opening up my computer, any hard drive, any directory and any directory within the first, all of the file icons appear as blank white pages. It only happens when you are two layers in to the file system on any physical disk; be it my SSD or HDD, it is not limited to just the one disk. Also, after you go two layers in to the file system and see the blank files, any other operation takes a long time to complete, for example going back to the my computer screen causes the green logarithmic progress bar to be shown at the top whilst it searches for drives. Once this has completed, however, file icons display as normal and drives listed under my computer appear instantly. I have tested this under both windows 8, and 8.1, and it only occurs under windows 8.1, oddly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
