Device manager crashes -Microsoft Management Console Error

Hi Folks,

I can open device manager, but whenever I try any function, search for new hardware, update drivers, disable device, etc, device manager crashes with the error "Microsoft Management Console Has Stopped Working." Other Management console programs work fine (event viewer, performance monitor).

I've run sfc /scannow half a dozen times. I've run it from a clean boot, I've run it 3 times in a row, I've run it, restarted, and then run it again. No errors found.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Ran my antivirus, TDSSKIller, and TrendMicro Housecall, and nothing turned up. This OS Install is less than a year old, and I've never detected a virus on the machine.

Is there any way to replace the mmc.exe program itself? I tried removing the dvmgr.dll and having sfc /scannow repair it, but the problem persists.

No luck. Followed all the step, did the repair install, and device manager is still crashing

Looks like you have no other choice but to reinstall Windows, refresh or reset. Back up your data before proceeding.
