upgraded to win 8.0 but can not upgrade to win 8.1 due toH

About users with win PCs upgraded to win 8.0 but can not upgrade to win 8.1 due to hardware or other restrictions…

My problem is

I CAN NOT FIND AS PHONE DEVELOPER [Win 8.0 pro] THE
· Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 with Update 0 for Windows
· Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 with Update 1 for Windows
The current [only this available] is
· Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013 with Update 2 for Windows
Is for win 8.1… (NOT the web or windows desktop versions)

Also I need this exact version since mainly use for Windows Phone 8.0 development…

Can you provide any guidance as to solve my problem?

I applied all updates all but shows my pc hardware or other reason NOT permit upgrade.

Maybe it's some OEM restriction.

MS has played a lot with Windows 8.1 setup (I'm not sure about upgrade files) and for many OEMs it is now impossible to install Win 8.1 with BIOS-embedded key. One has to use the trick with generic key and change it after installation. However, I have no idea whether such restriction applies to Store-based update...

It would be nice if you could provide contents of the message you're receiving and/or the error code.

The simplest but no the most convenient solution would be downloading Win 8.1 ISO and installing it from the scratch.

i plan buy a new win 8.1 laptop in 2015

basically i went install a win 8.1 app and says go update 8.1 and appear message about hardware or other reason - may i think install can but NOT from win 8 store.

No idea unfortunately...

However I can't believe there's such a thing as "Update 0" - it may be some wrongly composed error message. Are you sure it is not just Visual Studio Express without any updates? Just guessing as the original phrase sounds odd...

I guess you used a disk with Win 8.1 set up - am I correct? How about trying a regular update via MS Store?
