I decided to check errors in my hard drive and so I used TuneUp Utilities 2014. It has a option to check for errors and recover bad sectors. I choose that option. Rebooted my computer and it is stuck at 19% for about 40 minutes .. I'm wondering if there's any way that I can reboot the computer and cancel this operation and launch windows normally

When you clicked Check for Errors, you are not prompted to reboot the system. Did the operation finish the process or did you reboot yourself without a prompt to do so while it was processing?

It only checks the drive when booting , otherwise it says can't check because drive is in use. But, I left the computer overnight and it's working fine

Weird, I use the same program and never had to boot using Check for Errors and never for that long. I do know of a glitch within that function and have already reported to AVG, they acknowledged the problem and are working on it.

Glad it worked out OK for you.
