Is Win 8.1 Misbehaving?

I am getting all sorts of conflicts going on in my pc, only in the past couple of weeks. Chrome refusing to save passwords, but IE11 does. IE11 hanging; Email taking a 1000 times longer to open, used to be instant. Facebook is hanging too and not working, and software needing to be re installed like Malwarebytes Pro because there is a conflict with root kit. Even my MS keyboard misses letters out, and its NOT broken.

So, it has to be win 8.1 because all these errors cant be for differing reasons. There are many more not mentioned.

Big red flag there!! Do you know what a Root Kit is? If you actually have one your PC is compromised in a big way!

That's the excuse given by MWB Pro; I presume it means that the MWB rootkit analyser is dodgy. But its only in 8.1/ I have exactly same on my Win 7 laptop, with zero problems.

OK, Root Kit Analyzer, big difference versus Root Kit. I'd uninstall both MWB programs and see what happens.

Hey mate, along with what these other guys are saying, Win 8 doesn't have an inherent problem with IE11 or Chrome (otherwise the folks at MS would fix it!). The problem should (must) be with software you've installed. Some items install without your permission (or most commonly accidentally). Malware, viruses, root kits, PUPs, etc. Try removing things you did not want installed, such as things with toolbar, coupon, fix, analyzer, defragmenter, etc in their title. Ensure you have a proper antivirus installed (or preinstalled, if using Defender). Windows defender comes preinstalled, so if you did not install any other antivirus, ensure it is turned on, and give it a full scan on your computer. Malwarebytes is AWESOME for removing lots of unwanted things, so if you can get it installed (the program itself goes by Mbam), use it to scan after the first scan is complete.

Next, you might consider disabling/removing any add-ons you do not use. Keep adobe shockwave flash, and any other add-on that you feel you use. add-ons cause slowdowns (the more you have, slower you go), and some can downright interfere with the normal operation of your browser. Do the same for Chrome, but they are called extensions, I believe. Let us know how it works out.

Sometimes other antivirus programs cause problems if improperly removed. Have you ever had a preinstalled antivirus or have you installed one before, and then removed it? If so, there are specific removal tools that you must use in order to ensure computer stability. I can help you with this part if you need such a tool (I use an uninstaller called Revo Uninstaller Free, widely trusted to take out the extra junk when removing a program). Again, if all you use is Defender, it is safe to ignore this last paragraph.
